Proceeds from the gala will be donated to Hernando Parks to fund the purchase of adaptive playground equipment, a vital step towards creating inclusive play environments for children with special needs. Currently, Hernando has no options for adaptive playgrounds, which means many children lack the opportunity to engage in play that is both accessible and enjoyable.
Children with special needs often encounter challenges in traditional playgrounds, where equipment may not support mobility aids or sensory-friendly environments. By investing in adaptive playground equipment, we’re creating an inclusive space where all children—regardless of ability—can engage in play. This not only gives kids with special needs the opportunity to experience the joy of play alongside their peers, but also promotes physical, social, and emotional development for every child in our community.
